This season is one of significant transition for the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra — one we hope will be as rewarding as it is challenging. With the support of generous patrons like you, we know it will be a great one. Paramount is our search for a new music director who will help us cultivate lasting artistic and developmental programs that benefit both the WSO and the greater community.
In addition to the search, we will continue our service to the community with focus on artistic excellence, music education, and accessibility to live symphonic music. We not only want to see the WSO flourish; we want Casper to continue to grow as a regional and cultural hub. This transition is important to achieve the goals we have set forth for the WSO, though it will take time, funding and focused effort to realize our vision.
While 2018 is a year of growth and change for the Symphony, 2019-20 will mark the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s 70th season of providing quality music programming to the Casper community and Wyoming as a whole. We are excited to continue our innovative partnerships such as:
Programs like these broaden our reach beyond the concert hall into schools, hospitals, assisted living centers and public spaces like David Street Station and Washington Park – bringing in new audiences and inspiring budding interest in the arts. They also allow us to showcase the wonderful talent of the 70+ regional musicians we are proud to employ.
As a nonprofit organization, the WSO depends on the generosity of the community to make our big ideas happen. Donations from patrons and sponsors allow us to engage in cultural and economic development for the whole community. Our effort to make live musical performances and music education more accessible has and will continue to inspire artistic growth in the region.
Many of you have given us year-end gifts before that have helped carry us through past seasons, and we would like to ask for your help once again. While our music director search and quality programming are to be celebrated, they do not come without significant costs. We ask you to consider adding 25% to your donation this year. One-time payments are welcome, or we can assist with developing a monthly payment plan as well. Support from people like you helps us remain a staple in the community and continue the tradition of championing the performing arts in Wyoming.
