The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra is accepting video applications from qualified applicants living in the Rocky Mountain region for all orchestra instruments for our Substitute Lists.

The WSO is a per-service professional regional orchestra with a rate of pay of $65 per service.  Each concert series typically includes five services. For musicians residing outside of Natrona County, additional compensation will include travel reimbursement of $.20/mile and a per diem of $15.  Housing is provided for traveling musicians.

 

Substitute auditions should be submitted per the instructions below.  Successful candidates will be notified and then contracted as we have need for your services. Application materials will only be viewed by the Personnel Manager, Section Principal, and Music Director.

Audition Materials:

• Contact information including name, street address, phone number, and email.

• Current resume or C.V.

• Video(s) of the exposition of a standard concerto and an excerpt of contrasting solo or accompanied work. For wind and brass players wishing to be considered for auxiliary instruments, please include one additional excerpt for each instrument.

Video Formatting:

Videos should be uploaded to either YouTube, Vimeo, or a file-sharing site. All recordings must be unedited, have a stationary camera angle, and have been recorded within the past six months. The candidate should remain clearly in the video frame at all times and should not edit their recording in any fashion. Separate takes for each new piece of music are permissible, but there should be no video cuts or edits within a single work.   We strongly encourage that your selections be recorded at the highest quality possible.   Videos should be no longer than 8 minutes in length.

 

**Note that videos will only be viewed by the Music Director, Section Principal and Personnel Manager and will not be shared.
